It is recommended to perform a factory reset on a fridge before assessing for fault, as altered fridge settings outside the scope of what is covered in the manual may lead to a variety of issues.
How to perform a factory reset for plastic-case portable fridges:
- On standby (plugged in but power off), press the set key until the display shows E1.
- Press + and – simultaneously until the display shows -188 (or 888 or 000)
- Press the power button to restart
See this video on how to do this: https://bmc.worldmanager.com/go/WNPWs1
If your fridge has a divider, make sure the divider is inserted, with the small plastic plug located at the bottom of the fridge, as this contains a magnet that controls how the zones work.
The fridge should then be left on for a minimum of 5 minutes to allow the compressor time to start up before troubleshooting can begin.
How to perform a factory reset for the Stainless Steel portable fridges (e.g. GH1646):
- Press the power button to turn off the unit.
- Press + Hold the 'Compressor Speed' button until 888 appears on the temp displays.
- Press the power button to finalise.
- All temps and settings will be set back to default.
